Boxing Day 10TT 2013 – Results

It was a lovely morning as the participants, helpers and spectators gathered at Templeton Woods for the traditional post Christmas shock to the system! Thanks to Iain and Bill for timekeeping, Bob and Ian for marshalling and Donny for pushing off and everyone else who made it along. Is it too early to apply for a marshalling / timekeeping job for next year, anything so I don’t have to ride it 🙂

Gathering for the start

And they’re off

David and Ian Simpson were on the course taking photos so hopefully see the full Race Face poses soon.

Club Run – December 7th

13 Riders set off from Millenium Hall, Birkhill on a very cold morning. Headed out to Blairgowrie via Newtyle. Descending into Newtyle had most of us shivering and turning blue… and I don’t mean the langauge.  Frankie and Bob turned at Alyth roudabout and returned back via Meigle.  The remainder of us went onto Blairgowrie stopping at the usual cafe for coffee and scones. Run home was via Coupar Angus where the temperature seemed to have lifted – or maybe it was the effort of getting over Tully!  All in all a steady run with an impressive turnout from the newcomers considering the weather conditions.

Run Report 1 December 2013

Hard to believe it was the 1st of December as the weather was marvellous (for the time of year). There was a good group at The Gates who rolled out to Newtyle, where the Thistle bunch went right towards Forfar, leaving 8 of us to carry on to Alyth. Li turned off as the now 7 of us went over Hill of 3 Cairns and on to Kirkmichael where 2 more headed off homeward bound.

So the hard as nails 5 🙂 went over the Moors to Pitlochry at a nice steady pace. The views were stunning.  Arriving at Birnam was a welcome relief as we were in much need of food and coffee.

Home via the Estate and on to Murthly. Just after Burrelton, with the light fading I had to press on, going home via Tully (think the 3 amigos who were left were going via Newtyle). I arrived home at 3:45pm with light fading fast, but a fabulous pink sky over Dundee.

A fabulous day out and kudos to Brian for going the whole way on his first outing on the bike for several months!

Here’s my stats:
